Transdnestr is a self declared country for the last 18 years to yet fully be recognized by the UN.
Russia and Ukraine are the guarantors for a peaceful settlement of the 1992 armed conflict between Moldova and Transdenstr.
Transdnestr was forced by Stalin at the outset of the World War II to unify with Moldova. Russia has recognized Transdenstr along with South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
Of significance of late, Russia has handed out 135,000 Russian passports to citizens of Transdnestr. This was done pior to the invasion of Georgia.
The countries next to Transdnestr is Ukraine and Moldova. Since the Ukraine is necessary for Russia to expand and control its oil transportation systems, the Ukraine will be annexed very soon.
Obama will probably do nothing as Putin knows already.
What should be done now is for the USA to recognize Transdnestr and ask Russia to help with having the UN accept it as a country.
This would put Putin's queen in jeopardy for the world chess game that Obama has yet to understand.
Secondly, USA should provide Israel with SAT support for bombing Iran providing Russia with an unexpected checkmate.
